A Killfile is a list of patterns that are used to hide newsgroup or email messages so that the reader does not have to see them. |
Each message is examined to see if it contains one or more of the killfile patterns, for example, e-mail address, domain name, subject heading, thread, etc. If a message contains a killfile pattern, the newsreader program or email program deletes the message.
