Farnham's Freehold is a science fiction tale set in the near future by Robert Heinlein. It is a post-apocalyptic tale, as the setup for the story is a direct hit by an atomic weapon sends a shelter containing a man, his wife, son, daughter, daughter's friend, and butler into the far distant future. An excellent story, it is a study of bigotry, prejudice, responsibility, and self reliance as are many of Heinlein's tales.
