Tiramisu means "pick me up" and aptly describes an Italian dessert made from lady fingers, espresso coffee, mascarponi cheese, egg whites, sugar, and marsala wine.
Particularly over the past few years, it has become one of the most popular types of dessert served in restaurants (at least in Australia).
