(Partly?) Mexican American director who debuted with the short film "Bedhead" and after that went on to direct the $7,000 action flick "El mariachi" in Spanish, inspired by John Woo films. Rodriguez later stated that after seeing those cool Asian heroes, he wanted to make a film with a Latino hero. And that's what he did, with much corazón, so to say, meaning lots of heart and humour as well as violence. His next film was "Desperado?", a sequel of "[El mariachi]?" starring Antonio Banderas and Salma Hayek. He crossed over into the horror genre with "[From Dusk Till Dawn]?" and re-wrote "[The Invasion of the Body Snatchers]?" with his awesome teenager horror sci-fi flick "[The Faculty]?".
