A prediction by [Gordon E. Moore]
? (one of the co-founders of
Intel, not to be confused with the philosopher
G. E. Moore) stating that, at our rate of technological development and advances in the
semiconductor industry, the number of
transistors of
integrated circuits can be doubled every 18 months. Moore made this prediction in the year 1965 and it still holds true today.
The law can be interpreted to both side. It is both a challenge to our industry to keep up the law as well as it is to break it.
