Maglevs, or Magnetic Levitation, are trains that are propelled by the forces of magnetism, and are suspended in the air, leading to very little friction. THey can obtain speeds of up to 400 miles per hour. Maglevs are very important to the future of society because they can bring about the end of the airline industry (just incase it survives through these hard time they are having right now), because it is a cheaper, easier substitute, and is usually faster and safer. This may lead to suburbs extending nearly indefinitely, because it can take only an hour to travel several hundred miles to work in the city. Transportation may soon be a quick, easy, environmentally-friendly affair. They may lead to cities joining together, as they will become only minutes travel time apart.
