Dáil Éireann (pronounced "doyle eh-rinn") is the lower house parliment of the
Republic of Ireland. It operates and has powers similar to the British
House of Commons.
Elections to the Dáil, like all elections in Ireland, are by a system of Proportional Representation with Single Transferable Vote[1].
