Cytochrome is a
protein found in the matrix of the
Mitochondria. It performs ionization
? on and pumps the H
+ from NADH
2 and FADH
2 (which were produced in glycosis
?, the intermidetary step, and the
Citric acid cycle) to an outer mitochondrial membrame. Cytochromes are partly composed of
iron, and so are capable of performing
Oxidation and reduction. There are 5 kinds of cytochrome:
- Cytochrome Q
- Cytochrome b
- Cytochrome c1
- Cytochrome c
- Cytochome A complex
The energy created from the H+ passing through the [ATP synthase]? via diffusion is used to create ATP.
