One of the Slavic languages, and the most widely spoken language in Bulgaria. Bulgarian is a member of the South Slavic group, along with Macedonian?, Serbo-Croatian?, and Slovene?.

The Glagolitic alphabet was invented for the writing of Old Slavonic by missionary Saints Cyril and Methodius as they spread the gospel to the Bulgarians and Moravians?.
