Any drug used in the treatment of congestive cardiac failure (CCF) that work by inhibiting the formation of the vasoconstrictor angiotensin? II from angiotensin I by blocking the Angiotensin Converting Enzyme.

These drugs lowers arteriolar resistance and increases venous capacitance; increase cardiac output and index, stroke work and volume; lower renovascular resistance and lead to increased natriuresis (excretion of sodium in the urine).

There are also ACE inhibitors called [vasopeptidase inhibitors]?.
