The word vinaigrette can refer to:

  1. An unstable emulsion of vinegar (or sometimes lemon? juice) and [vegetable oil]?, often flavored with herbs, spices, and other ingredients. Vinaigrettes are used as sauce?s in many cuisines, and as [salad dressing]?s. This is the most common use of the word.
  2. A small container with a perforated top, used to contain an aromatic substance such as vinegar or smelling salts (also called a vinegarette).
  3. A [bath chair]?.
