The automobiles produces where all considered luxury cars, and technically they where special in the fact that they had rear mounted, air-cooled engines. The larger cars often had V8 engines which made them very rear heavy. Tatra started building streamlined cars in the 1930-ies, making them pioneers in that aspect as well.
The final car produced was the T700 model made until 1999. Tatra still produces lorrys, though.
One source claims that Tatra is third oldest in the world after Daimler Mercedes-Benz and Peugeot.
