Chakotay, commander of the Star Ship Voyager, started off the Voyager saga as a [/Maquis] Captain of his own ship and crew. After being transported to the delta quadrant his ship was destroyed and his crew was forced to join the Voyager crew.
He has a conspicuous tattoo above his left eye, which is likely a result of his native Indian background.
