An aggregate sedimentary? rock. Sometimes with intrusions and pebbles and bands of (quartz?). Varies in colour (in a similar way to sand?), often grey, yellow, red, or white.

Relatively soft and easy to work which therefore made it a common [building material]? and paving material.

gritstone?, millstone?, and flagstone? are forms of sandstone.
