A license to use the characters was purchased by computer game firm LucasArts. The resulting game "Sam and Max Hit the Road" is considered to be one of the funniest item-adventure style video games ever made. Running on the typical item-adventure interface, the player moves between various screens, gathers inventory items, talks with NPCs, and figures out where to use inventory items. While simple in concept, this game features a talking Dog and Lagomorph detective duo on the trail of a missing Bigfoot. Sam and Max's constant wisecracks may not really help them solve the case, but are a source of constant entertainment to the player. In spite of popular demand, no sequel was ever made.
