Psyche is the Greek word for soul. In Roman mythology Psyche was also the human bride of Cupid, the Roman god of love. Before she is allowed to mary Cupid she is forced to undergo many difficult ordeals. Apuleius tells the story of Cupid and Psyche in his Metamorphoses?.

There is an asteroid named after Psyche; catalogue number 16, 250 km in diameter, discovered in 1851.

Psyche is also the name of a Canadian (now German) Gothic band, centered on [Darrin Huss]?.

Best known songs were "Misery", "Unveiling the Secret" and a remake of "Goodby Horses".
