An explosive material. Initially called polymer bonded explosives (PBXs), developed in the 1950s to reduce the sensitivity of the new explosives (such as RDX) by embedding the explosive crystals in a polymer matrix such as polystyrene or nylon.

Well-known varieties include C-4? and Semtex.
