The Noahide Laws according to Jewish Rabbis, are those laws of God which are relevant and binding upon all people in the earth, due to the agreement of Noah and his family to abide by them. According to the biblical account, the great flood killed all of mankind, hence any living humans on the earth are descendants of Noah, and have an ancestor who agreed to follow these laws. These laws should not be confused with the law of Moses which ancestors of the people of Israel agreed to follow, or the covenants of Adam, Abraham, Isaac or Jacob.

These seven laws are:

  1. To not engage in idolatry
  2. To not blaspheme
  3. To not murder
  4. To not engage in sexual sin
  5. To not steal
  6. To not eat flesh cut from a living animal
  7. To establish a court of justice

These basic laws have been elaborated and explained by Hebrew sages, to form a consistent moral viewpoint called that of a "Righteous Gentile".

Idolatry is understood as promoting a complete view of the One God of Israel, his nature, and the supernatural world, including a prohibition of Occult actions.

Blasphemy is the complete understanding of giving honor and reverence to God, in word, thoughts, and deed.

Murder covers the various motivations and actions involved in killing another person.

Eating the limb of a living animal covers an ethical and kind relation between men and animals.

Sexual sin refers to the whole Torah view of human sexuality.

Theft, robbery, and stealing covers the appropriate understanding of other persons, their property, and their rights.

Finally, the establishment of courts of justice promotes the value of the responsibility of a corporate society of people to enforce these laws.
