Lusaka is the capital city of Zambia. It is located in south central Zambia on a plateau at 4200 feet in altitude.
Lusaka was founded in 1905 by European settlers. In 1935 it replaced Livingstone? as the capital of [Northern Rhodesia]?, a british colony. In 1964 it became the capital of the newly independent Zambia. Population (1990) 982,362.
