A well educated man, Pearson received a B.A. from the University of Toronto in 1919. He went on to Oxford University, where he received a B.A. Modern History in 1923 and an M.A. in 1925.
While at the University of Toronto Pearson lived in Gate House in Burwash hall in what is now room 3203.
He married Maryon Moody (1902-1991) in 1925. The couple had one daughter and one son.
He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1957 for his role in defusing the [Suez Crisis]? through the United Nations. He led the Liberal party of Canada from 1958 to 1968. He was Prime Minister of Canada from 22 April 1963 to 20 April 1968.
He died in Ottawa, Ontario and is buried at the Maclaren Cemetery in Wakefield, Quebec. Pierre Elliott Trudeau renamed [Toronto International Airport]? in Toronto, Ontario to [Pearson International Airport]? in his honor.
