cut:
The descendends of Ham, living in northern Africa, are called Hamites.
- First, it's 'descendents' in English, but the sentence isn't worth revising.
- Second, this sentence was believed in Europe before some date, I suppose, but it's being presented as a fact.
Yep, pretty appalling. But what should it be? Why cut it entirely without replacing it with at least something just as brief? --LMS (who won't, contrary to appearances, be at work today...)
