Forge

Forge is the workplace of a smith or a blacksmith?. It usually contains a hearth? (for heating the metals), an anvil? (for hammering the maellable metal pieces on) and a trough? (in which to rapidly cool, and thus harden, forged metal pieces).

Forging is a term for heat treating metals until the metal becomes maellable enough to be hammered into shape, and the subsequent hammering.
