[Home]Electronic oscillator

An electronic oscillator produces a repetitive electronic signal, usually a sine wave.

The basic form of an electronic oscillator is an electronic amplifier with the output attached to an electronic filter, and the output of the filter attached to the input of the amplifier. When the unit starts, the noise goes around, being amplified and filtered until it increasingly resembles the desired signal.

There are many ways to implement oscillators, because there are different ways to amplify and filter.
