Town in
Oblast Kaliningrad, in
Russian hands. Originally called Insterburg and part of Eastern
Prussia. It was taken over by the Soviet Union and renamed Cherniahovsk. Following it's take-over the Soviet Union ousted many East Prussians and brought in Russians.
After the fall of the Iron Curtain a group of people introduced the Akhal-Tekes horse breed to the area and opened an Akhal-Tekes horse breeding stable.
