I'd like to make it a convention in depicting organic chemicals on Wikipedia that, if "=" and "-" are used to depict bonds, that only single instances of them be used, both for the sake of elegance, simplicity and compactness, and also to avoid the naive notion that more than one "single bond character" (ie, "-") indicates a "multiple bond".

The chemically sophisticated know that = indicates a double bond and that - indicates a single bond, but then again, the chemically sophisticated might not be the ones to get the most out of an encyclopedia article, right?
