British public houses

British public houses (Pubs) are a common feature of the English, Welsh and Scottish landscape.

Each pub generally has a crowd of people that drink there on a predictable basis and they are called regulars. The closest pub to you is called your local.

A number of traditional games are often played in pubs including darts?, [shove ha'ppeny]?, billiards, and in some areas, [Nine Mens Morris]? and skittles?. In recent years the incursion of the game of pool? has widely made itself felt in British pub culture.

Pubs usually have Bitter beer on tap.

They sometimes serve specialised English [snack food]? such as [pork scratchings]?, Twiglets and [pickled gerkins]?.
