August Horch was born In Winningen an der Mosel October 12 1868. He attended the University of technology to study engine technology. August Horch died february 3 1951, He was 82 years old.
He worked for [Carl Benz]? for a time, then on November 14 1899 in Cologne Germany, Horch founded August Horch & Cie. The first Horch automobile was built in 1900/1902 in Reichenbach. Through a series of acquisitions and mergers, this later became Auto Union, then Audi.
