The 3DO Interactive Multiplayer, usually refered to as the Panasonic 3DO if you ever hear of it at all, was released in 1993 by Panasonic. It was revolutionary at the time: 32-bit, CD-ROM drive, expansion ports, etc, and commanded a lot of repsect hardware wise. Unfortunately plauged by truely some of the worst games ever created, a high price (roughly $800 ar release), and the inability of the console market to support multiple consoles put it in an early grave.
