Direct DemocracY requires that all citizens participate in the decision making process. Yet as a practical matter, until the latter half of the 20th century this has simply not been possible on a large scale, due to the logistical nightmare of gathering all of the people together for deliberation and voting.

TechnoDemocracy is a movement that seeks to leverage use of technology (including computers and the internet) to help eliminate the geographical limitation of direct democracy, in the belief that by doing so, it will allow DemocraticRepublic? s to become more democratic and avoid the troubles of OligarchY.
