I agree 100%, but i did this because Film is (until now) the place where information about Cinema/Film?/Movies? has been put up. I would also be keen to have it changed to Cinema, but am not entirely sure. I think someone should inquire in Film/Talk --Creaktop

OK. I'm not sure what to ask, though.--AMT

Well, I'll ask whether it isn't a better idea to move all the stuff under film to cinema --Creaktop

I think it should be under "film" or "cinema," but certainly not "movies" (since "movie," in the singular, does not refer to a body of movies the same way "literature" does a body of novels, poetry, plays, etc.; and "movies" carries that stench of commerce with it). Why not just ask if anyone has an objection to relocating the central page to another name? Then if no one responds with one in a reasonable time, just move it. --Or just move it now and see if anyone complains. The change is easily enough undone. :-) And I'd like to see what can be written about the word "cinema" itself, as well as the history of it. I'm keen on film but not very knowledgeable of much before the 60s in the U.S., or much of it at all in other countries.
