Bahaullah, born Mírzá Husayn-'Alí on November 12 1817 in Tehran, Persia, died May 29 1892 in Bahjí, Palestine (outside 'Akká, Acre); was known as Bahá'u'lláh ("The Glory of God" in Arabic), also known as "He Whom God will make manifest" (from the Báb's writings), Father of the Poor. Bahaullah was the founder of the Bahai Faith. His notable works include the Kitáb-i-Aqdas (Most Holy Book), Kitáb-i-Íqan (Book of Certitude), Epistle to the Son of the Wolf, others. Many excerpts have been published in English in various compilations such as Gleanings from the Writings of Bahá'u'lláh.
