Vice President of the United States 1993-2001 during Bill Clinton's presidency. Al Gore is the son of a Senator and grew up in Washington DC and Tennessee. He was a senator from Tennessee before he became Vice President. He wrote an environmental conservation book entitled [Earth in the Balance]?. He ran for president and was defeated by George W.
