A wikipedia author. Welcome!

Also a mythical beast that could well become a subject for an article.

Larry Sanger will most likely ask you to change your name when he gets back, since every named author automatically gets a page, and we don't want those to clash with likely articles. Authors can put info about themselves on their pages, boast about good articles they contributed to etc. Other wikipedians occasionally leave messages or discuss things by adding to the bottom of an author's page.
1). A mythical bird, sacred in ancient Egypt. Said to live for 500 years, the Phoenix was a solitary male bird with beautiful gold and red plumage. At the end of its life cycle, the Phoenix built itself a nest of twigs which it then ignited; both nest and bird burned fiercely and were reduced to ashes, from which a new Phoenix would arise. Present in other mythologies too, although descriptions (and life span) varied, the Phoenix became popular in early Christian art and literature as a symbol of the resurrection?.

2). A minor southern constellation, introduced by Johann Bayer in 1603.

3). The capital city of Arizona.

4). A minor character in the Iliad, one of Achilles' men who goes with Odysseus and Ajax to urge him to re-enter battle, giving the most passionate speech of the three. There is no doubt that this was a later addition to the epic, since Achilles continually talks to his guests using a special dual case, not plural.
