Patrick Macnee (b. February 6, 1922 - ), British actor. Despite numerous roles in theatre, on television and in cinema, Patrick Macnee is still best known for as the inimitable secret agent John Steed in the series [The Avengers]?, in which he played (chronological order) opposite female partners [Honor Blackman]? (as Cathy Gale), [Diana Rigg]? (Mrs Emma Peel) and [Linda Thorson]? (Tara King). Years later "his" John Steed resurfaced in The New Avengers opposite Joanna Lumley and Gareth Hunt, respectively Purdey and Gambit.
