Molecular mechanisms of memory

Memories are established by changing the conductivity of synapses in neural networks of the brain (and not only). Association of stimuli arriving at a synapse can trigger a molecular cascade of events that eventually leads to the synthesis of new proteins affecting synaptic conductivity.
