A telegraph that uses electric signals. Invented in the 1830s by Samuel Morse.
A telegraph that uses electric signals. Though some systems such as the British "needle" telegraph were in use by the 1830s, the first practical system was built in 1844 by Samuel Morse and was capable of transmitting over long distances using poor quality wire. Morse also created the Morse code alphabet for use on the device.
