Origins

I believe that the following articles and concepts need better coordination (most of the concepts have their own article):

* [Darwin's theory of evolution]?
* [Darwinian evolution]?
* Darwinism
* [Neo-Darwinian synthesis]?
* evolution, theory of evolution, natural selection
* [evolution through natural selection]?
* mutation, speciation
* macroevolution, microevolution
* deism, creationism, intelligent design, Intelligent Design Theory, [creation science]? (with its young earth and old earth variants)

This set of articles and concepts has several problems. The worst problem is unclear or shifting definition of terms. Regardless of which view is considered "right" or "scientific" or "widely held", the terms themselves should be clear.

Another problem is attribution of views. For some concepts, readers need to know who supports the concept. While it's pretty clear that deism is compatible with Darwinian evolution, it should be made clear whether deism is a creationist view or not. We also need terms to describe the beliefs that (A) evolution was guided by God; as opposed to (B) God created life with no evolution at all. The term "creationism" is inadequate, as it tends to blur the distinction between A and B.
