This is not about Truso:

Haithabu was near the city of Schleswig in Schleswig-Holstein , Germany.

Wulfstan von Haithabu ,Jutland was a traveler who took a recorded journey across the Baltic Sea, where he visited the Old Prussian trading center of Truso near Elbing and Danzig, near the Vistula River.

My thoughts exactly! JHK

First of all, when you read it, you will read that it was on the same trade route connection and that Wulstan von Haithabu made a trip to Truso. Then when you look at Hedeby, you will find , that somesone took my entrance on Haithabu, changed it to Hedeby and took all Haithabu off. I am therefore attaching it to Truso. H. Jonat

Doesn't really make sense -- I think Haithabu was changed because in English we say Hedeby. Could you maybe write more about Truso itself, (like Wulfstan's trip), but less about Hedeby?? JHK

Yes, the problem with Haithabu is fundamentally one of the runic transliteration into English. It is very seldom referred to as Haithabu in English. sjc

I have made the point that Ebling considers Truso to be its antecedent. Also, I am unsure that there is any behesting from Alfred: the only source I am aware of relates the bare details of Wulfstan's journey. Investigations continue... sjc

I bow to your greater knowledge -- just trying to preserve some of the original JHK
