[Home]Syncreticism

HomePage | Recent Changes | Preferences

Syncreticism is the merging of various schools of thought, rather than an insistence that one is superior to another in almost every aspect.

Syncreticism is common in literature, music, representational art and other expressions of culture.

Some religious movements have embraced syncreticism while others have rejected the practice as devaluing real distinctions.

Examples of strongly-syncreticist movements include postmodernism and the New Age movement.
