Sugarhill Gang

Although they were rapping on the second rap record ever, namely Rapper's Delight (1979), the Sugarhill Gang were not real pioneers. They were picked up by producer Sylvia Robinson who also founded Sugar Hill Records. [Grandmaster Caz]? from the [Cold Crush Brothers]? claims that the Sugarhill Gang used his rhymes on Rapper's Delight. In any case, it is generally acknowledged that Caz is, unlike the Sugarhill Gang, a hip hop pioneer.
