Dice of many forms (4-sided, 6-sided, 8-sided, 10-sided, etc.) are the lubricant of fantasy gameplay, but technically not necessary.
It's like an ensemble telling of a story
It's addictive
The above is more akin to poetry than to a bona fide encyclopedia entry. The idiosyncratic line-breaking, the cryptic statements, etc., is just silly. --

and maybe it's beyond everybody's imagination but yours, because you already know what this is supposed to mean, but when you want to know something abour RPGs and start by reading a text like the above one, the only information you get is that whoever wrote it is some kind of weirdo (no offence meant) -
