A
chemical element, in the
periodic table Rhodium has the symbol Rh and atom number 45. Discovered in
1803 by [William Hyde Wollaston]
? of
England, it is hard and durable with a high reflectance. It is a highly useful
catalyst in a number of industrial processes. The industrial extraction of rhodium is complex as the metal occurs in ores mixed with other metals such as
palladium,
silver,
platinum, and
gold.
Rhodium melts at 2237 K and boils at 3968 K.
