Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), is a personality disorder of humans related to anxiety. It is characterised by the obsessive need to perform some task. In many cases the task may be seeming simple, but the sufferer feels that they must perform it in some particular way for fear of dire consequences. Examples might include checking that you have locked you car many times over before leaving it parked, or turning the lights on and off a set number of times every time you leave a room.

The disorder is not destructive in that it does not cause the patient harm, and sufferers are rarely violent, but it is obviously debilitating to the quality of the sufferers life.
