Mood stabilisers

Describes medication intended to stabilize moods.

Used in treatment of Bipolar Disorder.

Mood stabilisers include:

• Lithium carbonate
• Carbamazepine
• Valproic acid

There are also reports that omega-3 fatty acids may act as mood stabilisers.
