Making Wikipedia profitable/Talk

Repeating some else's comment- This doesn't seem to involve anyone but those who will profit from Wikipedia. Of course, if the owner/owner's want to issue shares to contributors, then writers might have a real interest in this...:-).

There's no need for any formal arrangements for a Wiki author to make money here. Wikipedia is a great brewing pot for texts that can be used in many ways. For example, most of the stuff I've been adding about poker is from a book project I never got around to finishing. By putting it here, I get to add links to other related things, I get other authors to add their own details, I get feedback from people asking questions about it or commenting on it, etc. At some point, I still might make a book out of it (or someone else might). I had never intended to copyright it anyway, so that's no impediment. --Lee Daniel Crocker
