Kid Icarus is the title of a game for the
Nintendo Entertainment System game console. Kid Icarus was designed by Gunpei Yokoi (1941-1997), famous for desiging ROB and Metroid. The main character in Kid Icarus was a small boy with wings named Pit. The game was based on the Metroid engine and contained both side and verticle scrolling action sequences. (sombody add more?)
