If you are going to create a new page for another day of the year, it would be nice if you would be consistent with the others. The following template gives an example, with commentary. It would probably be easiest to copy an existing page and just change the text.
January 1 is the 1st day of the year in the
Gregorian Calendar. There are 364 days remaining (365 in
leap years).
For days after Feb 29, use this format
May 8 is the 128th day of the year in the Gregorian Calendar (129th in leap years). There are 237 days remaining.
- The "mathematically challenged" (or lazy) can go to http://carib.stanford.edu/gert/tree/julian_noleap.html for a table showing what day of the year a certain date is, or http://carib.stanford.edu/gert/tree/julian_leap.html for leap years.
Next, have some discussion about the day if appropriate - Jan 1, Mar 22 (equinox), Dec 25, etc deserve some discussion.
Then add events, births, deaths and observances according to the following format:
Events:
Births:
- 1942 - [Country Joe McDonald]? (of [Country Joe and the Fish]? fame)
Deaths:
- 2001 - [Ray Walston]?, 86, actor best known as the star of TV's My Favorite Martian, and later as a judge on Picket Fences
Holidays and observances:
- Australia - National "let's stay drunk" day
- USA - National "lets stay drunk and watch football" day
- The use of bullet items, immediately followed by a 4-digit year, keeps things nicely aligned.
