George Cukor 1899-1983

American film director. Born in New York, worked as a stage producer before his dialogue direction for All Quiet on the Western Front led to work for Paramount then RKO? and MGM?. Directed[Katharine Hepburn]?in her first film, "A Bill of Divorcement." Noted for his graceful and witty work, especially with actresses.
