Football team from south-west London. Founded in 1879, they have played at the same Craven Cottage ground since 1896. In the mid 1960s Fulham were a relatively succesful team, without winning any major honours. Although two relegation in consecutive seasons at the end of the '60s left them in the 3rd division, they were able to attract famous name players including [George Best]? (1976-1977) and Bobby Moore (1973-1977). Despite an appearance in the 1975 FA Cup final, the club lost its way in the latter part of the 70s, ending up at the very lowest depths of the [football league]?.

Since the mid 90s, however, with the backing of multi-millionaire Mohammed Al-Fayed, and the recent guidence of [Jean Tigana]? Fulham has risen back through the divisions, and being promoted to the FA Premier league, the top division of English football, for the 2001/02 season.
