Normally the lowest part of the human body.
An imperial unit of length divided into 12 inches. It is internationally, defined to be 0.3048 Metres. Other definitions of the foot are in use (see inch).
A certain number of syllables part of a line of verse, measured for effect in English as long beats (accented) and short beats (unaccented). In many other languages criteria such as duration of the syllable (long or short) is the effect measured.
